Public sector systems, working properly.
We build and look after the software your teams use every day. Resident and customer records, enquiries and casework, HR and recruitment, finance, projects and reporting. We replace what no longer fits, connect what will not talk to each other, and support it afterwards.
A2Z Cloud is approved on the UK government’s G-Cloud framework, so public sector organisations can appoint us without running a full tender.

Public sector software we design, build and support
In plain terms: we build the software your teams use to do their jobs, and we look after it afterwards. Below is the sort of work we are usually brought in for.
A2Z Cloud is an approved supplier on the UK government’s G-Cloud framework and a Zoho Premium Partner of fifteen years, with more than 800 implementations delivered. Public sector organisations can appoint us through G-Cloud direct award without running a full tender.
You do not need to be technical to work with us. Most of the people who contact us have been asked to sort out a system, not to become an IT expert. We explain things in normal language and we do the technical part. Public sector digital transformation is easier to get approved when someone can describe it plainly.
CRM for local government and councils
Public sector CRM that holds one reliable record of a resident, a member, a supplier or a partner, rather than five partial ones across different teams. We build council CRM software and local authority CRM around the way your service actually handles enquiries, not the way a product assumes you do. CRM for councils, CRM for public sector teams, and the reporting that has to come with it. Where it fits your requirements, we can configure Zoho CRM around your service processes.
Case management software
Public sector case management software for casework that has stages, owners, deadlines and an audit trail. Configured to your process, with the reporting your governance and oversight actually need.
Public sector app development and low code
Where nothing off the shelf fits, we build it. Low code public sector development and custom application development for the parts of your service that are genuinely specific to you, delivered quickly and documented properly.
Public sector workflow automation and reporting
Council workflow automation that takes the manual steps, rekeying and chased email out of the working day, and reporting you can put in front of a board or a scrutiny committee without rebuilding it by hand each time. Explore our reporting and analytics solutions.
For example: an approval that used to take four emails and a chase now routes itself and records who signed it off.
We also work across public sector HR software and recruitment, finance and expenses, service desks, projects and document management, and we deliver public sector cloud software for councils, NHS bodies, schools and charities. Our G-Cloud implementation services cover design, build, integration and support, including G-Cloud low code work. We are a Zoho Premium Partner, so if you want to buy Zoho through G-Cloud or procure Zoho through G-Cloud alongside the work, we can handle both the services and the G-Cloud software licensing conversation.
The problems we are usually brought in to solve
If any of these sound like your organisation, you are in normal company. They come up in almost every public sector conversation we have.
How we work with you
Whatever the system, the way we go about it is the same. Most conversations start with a problem rather than a shopping list, and that is the right way round.
Working out what you actually need
Before anything is built or bought. We use process mapping to understand how your teams really work, look honestly at what you already have, and tell you what is worth changing and what is not. Sometimes that conclusion is that you need less than you thought.
Improving the process, not just rebuilding it
There is no point recreating an inefficient process in newer software. We look at how the work actually flows and suggest where steps can be removed, combined or automated. You decide what changes, but you will get an honest view of what is worth keeping and what only exists because it always has.
Building the system around your processes
Not the other way round. We configure and customise so the software matches how your organisation operates, including the parts that are specific to your service and will not be found in any off-the-shelf product.
Connecting and migrating systems
We integrate systems from different suppliers, including ones we did not build and ones you are keeping, so information moves between them automatically instead of being rekeyed. We also migrate data out of legacy platforms and spreadsheets, handling the mapping, validation and reconciliation, and showing you exactly where the source data needs attention before it moves.
Getting your teams on board
The most common reason a good system fails is that people quietly carry on as before. We involve the people who will use it early, explain why things are changing rather than just what is changing, and run onboarding and guidance sessions so teams are confident before go-live rather than after it.
Supporting it once it is live
Systems change because services change. We provide ongoing support, make changes as your requirements move, onboard new people, and review regularly so the system keeps pace rather than quietly falling behind. This is delivered through A2Z Guardian, our managed service.
Not sure which of these you need? That is exactly what a first conversation is for, and it costs you nothing.
How to buy through G-Cloud without a full procurement
G-Cloud is the government framework that lets public sector organisations buy technology services from approved suppliers directly. As a G-Cloud 15 supplier, our G-Cloud services, rates and terms are already published and agreed, which removes most of the process.
Most buyers reach us through G-Cloud direct award, where you compare published G-Cloud services and appoint a supplier without running a separate competition. You will find us in the G-Cloud Digital Marketplace catalogue as A2Z Cloud Ltd, a G-Cloud 15 approved supplier.
If G-Cloud procurement is new to your team, the short version is that the framework has already done the supplier assessment and agreed the terms, so what remains is your own internal approval.
Have a conversation first
Before any procurement route matters, it is worth knowing whether there is a sensible answer to your problem. That call costs nothing and carries no obligation.
Find us on the framework
What we do, what it costs and the terms we work under are already published for your procurement team to review. View our G-Cloud listing.
Award directly and begin
In most cases you can place a call-off order against the framework without running a separate competition. Your procurement team will confirm the right route for the value and nature of the work.
If you are not sure whether direct award applies to what you need, ask us. It is a five minute conversation and it will save your procurement team a good deal of guessing.
Trusted by teams who rely on their systems every day

Who can buy through G-Cloud

Legacy systems, integrations and data migration
Most of the difficult work in a public sector technology project is not the new system. It is everything already in place around it.
Replacing systems that have been outgrown
Connecting systems that were never designed to talk
Finance, case management, HR, reporting and specialist line-of-business systems from different suppliers. We build the connections between them so information passes automatically, removing the rekeying and the exported spreadsheets that create two versions of the truth.
Moving data without losing it
Migration is where projects most often come unstuck. We profile the source data first so you can see exactly what condition it is in, agree the mapping in writing, then run trial migrations and reconcile record counts and values before anything final happens. You sign off the result, not us.
Working alongside what you keep
Replacing everything is rarely the right answer. Where a system works, we leave it and integrate with it. We are equally comfortable working alongside your in-house team or an incumbent supplier, and we will not make a change simply because it suits us to.
Managing risk and governance
Public sector delivery carries obligations that private sector projects do not. Services must keep running, decisions must be defensible, and data must be handled properly. Our delivery approach is built around that.
Discovery before commitment
Scope, cost and risk are established and documented before delivery begins, so your approvals are based on evidence rather than estimates.
Phased delivery, not a single switchover
Work is broken into stages with defined outcomes. If priorities change you can stop or redirect between stages rather than being committed to the whole programme.
Testing and formal acceptance
Internal quality assurance followed by user acceptance testing with your own people. Nothing goes live until your team has tested it and signed it off.
Data protection and information governance
A named data protection officer, data handling and retention agreed during scoping, and completion of your information governance, DPIA and supplier assurance documentation.
Documentation and no lock-in
Configuration and decisions are documented and handed over. Your data remains yours and is exportable. You should be able to move on from us if you choose to.
Named accountability throughout
Scoping, build, integration and support are delivered by our own UK team. No handover to a third party and no ambiguity about who is responsible.
Bring us the problem before you have written the specification. That is when we can save you the most time and money.
Experience at the scale you operate
Fifteen years and more than 800 implementations, across single-site organisations, national networks and multi-site groups.
Complexity in these projects rarely comes from headcount. It comes from the number of systems involved, the number of people with a legitimate stake in the outcome, and the fact that the service has to keep running throughout. That is the environment we work in.
We also tell clients when the answer is not the one they were expecting, including when the right course is to do less than they had planned.
Examples of that work: streamlining complex logistics, a study in process mapping and unifying sales, projects and service.
